Assalaamualaikum Dear Community Members,
We hope this message finds you in the best of health and Iman. As you may know, IOK is currently in escrow to acquire a 44,187 square foot office building near Cal Poly Pomona (CPP) University. This acquisition will not only establish an endowment for the IOK WAQF but also serve as the new headquarters for the IOK CHESS Seminary, Chaplaincy, and Counseling Programs.
The first floor of this facility will feature a Musalla, serving the students of CPP University and the residents of Phillips Ranch, North Diamond Bar, and San Dimas. It will also include classrooms, a library, and dedicated spaces for our Seminary Alimiyyah Program students, as well as offices for our Chaplaincy and Counseling Programs. The second floor is fully leased to tenants, and once our Islamic loan(s) is paid off, the rental income will provide sustainable funding for our future needs. By relocating the IOK CHESS Programs from the main campus in Diamond Bar to this new building, we will, inshaAllah, be able to accommodate more students at IOK School.
The purchase price of this building is $9.3 million. We need to put down $4.75 million, of which we already have $2.1 million, Alhamdulillah. We need to raise the remaining $2.65 million of the down payment by September 30, 2024, which is the close of escrow date. The remainder of the purchase price will be paid through Islamic loan(s) inshaAllah.
We graciously welcome contributions of $1,000, $2,500, $5,000, $10,000, $25,000, or any amount you are able to give. The reward for building a Musalla, supporting students in becoming Huffadh and Ulama, and nurturing the next generation of scholars, teachers, mentors, chaplains, and Imams is immeasurable. Given the significance of this endeavor, no contribution is too small. We aspire to achieve widespread participation in the region and across the nation.
