Shaykha Ayesha Hussain began her journey of scholarship by taking a number of introductory courses in Islamic Studies from local scholars and beginning the memorization of The Qurʾan. She then enrolled into the 5 Year Masters & ʿAlimiyyah Degree offered at the Institute of Knowledge Seminary and, during that time, began teaching Qurʾan and Islamic Studies at various masajid and Muslim organizations. She then completed the memorization of the entire Qurʾan, earned her bachelor’s degree from the Seminary, followed by a Master’s degree in Arabic and Islamic Law and Tradition, an Ijazah to teach Sahih al-Bukhari, Sahih Muslim, and Jamiʿ al-Tirmidhi, as well as an Ijazah ʿAmmah, spanning all books of Hadith. She also took special courses in Islamic Counseling and Pastoral Care. She is now an instructor in IOK’s Full-Time and Part-Time Seminaries, and is a regular speaker and teacher for various Muslim organizations in Southern California. Aside from her work in the field of Islamic Studies, Shaykha Ayesha is a criminal defense attorney.
